PULSE is the 6th-12thgrade youth group ministry of Calvary Chapel Central Bucks.
"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity; but of power, of love, and of self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7
Our youth are normally students from public, private, and home school students in the area of Central Bucks.· Our primary goals are to teach God's word with relevance in the lives of the youth and build community and love among the youth through the unity of the Holy Spirit.
“Pulse” was derived from 2 Timothy 1:7. In Paul’s letter to his protégé Timothy, we see in verse 6, Paul encouraging Timothy to fan into flame the gift of God that was burning within Timothy. This gift, of course, is the Holy Spirit. We are always encouraging each other and our Youth to stoke that Spiritual fire that is within us. God wants to burn brightly within us, so that our sinful desires will burn away, and our eternal identity, our life hidden in Christ, will glow to this dark and lost world. In verse 7, Paul goes on to say “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of POWER, of LOVE and of SELF-DISCIPLINE.”
God’s love and power will do great things in and through us if we seek him and are disciplinedto resist the enemy. Sin is always the obstacle to God’s Plans to spiritually prosper us. Thus the acronym “PLS” was formed. This led to a nickname “Pulse” which also has to do with our heart beat. We check whether we are physically alive or dead by checking our pulse. In the same way, we also need to check our spiritual pulse, to see if we are living the spiritual life.
The question we need to ask ourselves, is, am I living the Spiritual Life that I am called to live. Is my heart beating for God’s purpose, or am I still conforming to the patterns of this world?
Galatians 2:20, Colossians 3:3 and Romans 12:2

It is amazing what God will do with just one heart that is set toward Him and available to be used. Past missions trips to Belize, New Orleans, Alaska, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Philadelphia, and Butler, PA were among the many opportunities the youth at Calvary had to show God's love to the people in thoses places.
This is our time to retreat for a weekend without the everyday distractions as we draw close to Jesus and let Him draw close to us. The Holy Spirit always does an amazing work in hearts and lives during this time. Overnight retreats are offered for grades 6th - 12th.
